1 d. black, plate 5, lettered EH and EC, each tied to a cover by Maltese Cross of Wotten-Under-Edge, one cover showing the "special" scored Maltese Cross in black, the other the "normal" cross struck in red, each with corresponding Wotton-Under-Edge double-arc c.d.s. despatch backstamps (26 May and 9 July, 1841), each sent to Carnalway, Kilcullen, Ireland, adhesives with faults, covers with some soiling and filing folds, opened for display, yet a rare duo, illustrating both cancellation types, and the only two recorded covers with this distinctive Maltese Cross posted to Ireland Gi.
