Auction 333-341 Nigeria, Cameroon, Sudan & Worldwide Postal History - Day 4

1900: Postal Stationery card, 1 d. red, Proof, from the De La Rue Reference File, endorsed "App'd / W.H.M. / 19/11 (00)", vertical filing crease left of center and surface disturbance to part of reverse from being affixed to the file, a very rare example. Sold with an unused and used example of the issued card.
Note: The proof was returned by The Crown Agents, having been approved by Sir William Hepworth Mercer (W.H.M.) on 19 November 1900. It was then placed in the De La Rue Correspondence Books until removed 21 July 1960.
