Philippines 1856: 1 r. green on blued, imperforate, wmk. loops, a single example and a horizontal pair used on 1857 cover endorsed "via Istmus de Suez" to Bilbao, Spain all tied by oval network obliterator handstamps in black; with "MANILA / FILIPs." cds below in usual watery blue ink (Feb 8). Reverse with Cadiz transit cds in blue and Bilbao arrival (Aug 10) in red. File fold and somewhat roughly opened on reverse but a rare franking; also a cover front to San Sebastian bearing 2 r. red on blued similarly tied with MANILA cds. (8 Jan 1864) alongside.
