First French Occupation 1797-1799 1797/98: Printed heading entire letter of 19 July 1797 from the Quartier Général de l'Armée d'Italie locally used in Corfu, concerning payment of sailors and officers of the French fleet; and 9 May 1798 entire letter from Corfu to Paxos sent by Citizen Justice of the Peace in Corfu, without postal markings but with internal negative seal handstamp "LIBERTA EGVAGLIANZA CIVIDICE DI PACE" handstamp showing Liberty vignette (see Zaphiriou page 30). A scarce pair.
