British Protectorate 1815-1864 1856 (Oct 23): Entire letter from Cefalonia to Patras, Greece with fine hooded "CEFALONIA" datestamp of despatch (Oct 23) in blue with fine strike of oval charge markings with manuscript "2" (pence, Ionian fee) and "2½" (pence, charge by British ship) both in red ink to denote prepayment and charged "15" lepta to pay in red crayon. Seldom seen so fine.
