China, 1897 Small Surcharge on Dowager 1st printing 1c. on 1ca. vermilion, Plate C, double pane of forty with sheet margins at top and left, Panes 1 and 2, Pane 1 position 10 shows Arabic "1" of surcharge with top serif missing, excellent colour, well centred, fine unused with much original gum, one stamp in bottom row has perfs. trimmed at foot, a few trivial adherences on reverse.
