lot # 44 - GREECE- LARGE HERMES HEAD 1861 paris print
First day cover of the rarest shade of all Paris Printings, the dark deep blue 20 Lepta cancelled Oct 8, 1861. This is the example described in the Kohl-Hanbook and called the "Patas blue" because the stamp was only used in Patras and in the near surrounding. Certificate Schulz (1969). Very rare and important. (Hellas 5d).
