UNIQUE: Variously described as 'printer's samples', otherwise as Waterlow Recess printed Plate Proofs colour correct £1. Olive-green and lake initialled 'J.G.Bignell' (?) vignette indicated print run 212,000 stamps in 3534 pulls of 60 stamp panes/312,000 stamps in 5,200 pulls of 60 stamp panes, faults highlighted and commented accordingly, security punched as usual. Vignette plates x two in proof colour and final olive-green colour. The whole upon gummed unwatermarked paper, usual wrinkling/paper creasing visible but not impacting overall appearance and rarity.
