1854/1867 Incoming mail: Two stampless covers from old Italian states to Constantinople, with 1854 printed letter from the Directory of Maritime Health (related to Cholera) in Genova, Sardinia marked "10" (Decimes) for the 1851-1860 rate to the Levant, and 1867 Bank letter from Rome (Papal State) marked "8" (for normal weight cover) but corrected to "16" (Decimes), while the receiving bank in Constantinople had to pay 2 Piatres 30 Paras (noted on back), both with "CONSTANTINOPLE (TURQUIE) ..." arrival backstamps. A scarce destination from Italian States!
