1857 "2nd Opium War": Cover from Calcutta, India to Shanghai via Hongkong by steamer "James Heartley" during the 2nd China/Opium War (1856-1860), franked by India QV 1a. brown tied by numeral "B/1", rated "4" on front, and on the reverse with Calcutta "24 OCT 1857" despatch cds in red and "HONGKONG/20 NO/1857" transit dater in black, fine. Scarce incoming mail to Shanghai during the 2nd Opium War.
