1854 Two singles of lithographed 4a. bright indigo & red from 2nd printing along with 2a. green on portion of cover from Mercara (now Madikeri, South India), tied with fine strikes of BLUE diamond of dots, red rect. framed "MERCARA/(8-10-55/Paid." h/s and m/s on the reverse. The 4a. adhesives cut-to-shape with partially cut outer framelines, the 2a. with close to touched frames, but still an attractive franking with remarkable intensity of the indigo colour.
