Registered envelope written from Hobart dated 'Hobart 24th July 1859' addressed to England bearing Van Diemans Land 1d pale brick red (pair) and 4d pale blue mixed with Tasmania SG 40, 6d dull lilac (3) tied by '62' bar obliterator of Hobart with hand-struck 'Registered' and 'Post Office/Hobart' on reverse in diamond, rated '6' on arrival with 'Crown/Registered' hand-stamp in red and Leeds receiver on reverse. Letter with stains and few stamps minor faults, but still fine and rare classic cover paying the double letter rate plus overseas registration.
