Tercentenary of Annexation 1906: De La Rue Tercentenary 1 d., the Artist's composite Essay, beautifully hand-painted on imperforate card paper featuring the Olive Blossom vignette and largely as issued, in sunken display card (87 x 81 mm.) and marked "A" at top with manuscript date "March 1st '06" in ink; further manuscript below the design "Approved as altered on tracing paper 5/3". An absolutely lovely Essay and a beautiful example of the artist's work, a similar duplicate Essay is illustrated in the 'De La Rue Collection' edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 2188.
