1903/04: De La Rue Essay for the proposed 1 a. value, imperforate on thick card (90 x 115 mm.), printed in green with the Flags hand-painted in red and background swathes at top and at sides and Duty Plate and corners all hand-painted in pale to deep green, the 'perforations' again hand-painted in red; the card marked "B" and dated "Oct 29th 03" at top and "Dupl." at base.
