1840 (Oct 6): Entire letter from Windsor to Launceston, Tasmania, endorsed 'Inland Postage Paid' at top left and prepaid '10d.' in red manuscript with octagonal framed "WINDSOR / POST PAID" in red. Fine oval "PAID SHIP LETTER / ♚ / OC 7 / 1839 / SYDNEY" in red at right. Reverse with fine "WINDSOR / N.S.W." in black, oval "♚ / GENERAL POST OFFICE / SYDNEY" in black (Oct 7) and charged '7d.' due open receipt. The entire contains copies of letters from Cornwallis (May 5), Clarendon (Oct 5) concerning an estate. Fresh and very fine.rnrnProvenance: P.J.
