1842 (Aug 16): Entire letter written from Pernambuco to Saddleworth, Lancashire, carried by hand to England, where mailed with Great Britain 1841 1 d. red-brown (Gi 8), lettered EJ, good margins all round, neatly tied by Maltese Cross in black, with docketing of receipt in manuscript alongside. Reverse with double "Liverpool" and "Manchester" circular datestamps (Oct 22). The adhesive crossed by light file fold but a most unusual and rare entire - one of just three covers maild from Brazil bearing adhesives prior to the issue of the Bull's Eyes.
