90 reis grey-black, Early Intermediate Impression, the outstanding and famous used block of six from the upper right of the First Composite plate, State B, (positions 4-6/10-12) showing traces of the interpane "Semi Xifopagus" dividing line horizontally at top, with large margins on the further three sides and 9 mm. sheet margin at right; all stamps cancelled by five strikes (three complete) of the rare framed "CABO FRIO" handstamps (Ayres fig. 1248) in red-brown. Illustrated in Juchert "Ochsenaugen im Viererblock" on page 63, "Bull's Eyes" by H. Bunselmeyer Ferreira on page 34 and also illustrated in L.G. Brookman's article on Saul Newbury's collection in the Collectors Club Centenary handbook (1943). Faultless and a sublime multiple for the connoisseur. Signed A. Diena.
