1864 (April 13): Escuditos  6 c. carmine-rose, two examples, with large margins all round, used on a cover from Montevideo to Buenos Aires, Argentina, dated 3 August 1864, tied by oval Montevideo datestamp in black. Part of reverse reduced leaving partial commercial cachet in blue. Horizontal filing fold well clear of adhesives. An attractive and fine cover.
