Harbour Grace-Scilly Isles-London 1930: Boyd & Connor Flight cover franked by 4 c. reddish-purple, 10 c. violet and Airmail 36 c. sage-green all tied to cover addressed c/o the Postmaster in London and tied by St. John's machine cancel and by "Returned to Sender" cachet due to address; reverse with "Harbour Grace" cds of despatch (Oct 9) in black and London arrival (Oct 13). The envelope endorsed at left "This envelope was carried in the Bellanca monoplane "Columbia" on its second Transatlantic flight Oct 9-10-1930, Harry Connor, Navigator" and further signed at top "Eroll Boyd, pilot" each inscribed in blue ink. Framed "Not called for / EC" and "London Chief Office" cds (Dec 13) when the item was returned to the GPO in Newfoundland. Sold together with a photocard of the "Columbia" in the Scilly Isles. Extremely rare Muller 19a = 15'000 pts.
