1884/96: Stamp Duty: 15s. mauve, watermark V Over Crown sideways, perforated 12½, unused, with large part original gum, particularly well-centered for this issue, delicate fresh shade, an exceptional stamp, one of the great rarities not only of Victoria but of the British Commonwealth, one of only two recorded examples in private hands. Cert BPA (1962). Gi = £12'000.
Note: The collection of His Majesty King Charles III contains a single example, described somewhat more correctly as 'pale mauve'.
