British Protectorate 1815-1864 1859: (½ d.) orange, a single example with large margins on three sides and shaved at base used on reverse and (1 d.) blue with good margins on three sides and shaved at left, on August 1859 entire letter from Cefalonia to Zante, each tied by rectangular framed "FRANCA" in blue. Hooded "CEFALONIA" datestamp of despatch in blue (Aug 10) and circular "ZAKYNTHOS" arrival cds alongside; the stamps being placed as per regulations: 1 d. inter-island fee on the obverse and ½ d.
