Greek Possession 1871: Cover from Triest to Patras, Greece endorsed "via Corfu", posted on board the Triest-Corfu-Alexandria Lloyd steamer, struck with "SCHIFFSAMT No. 1 / Corfu" datestamp (Aug 13) in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 88). Reverse with "Kerkyra / 106" cds in black (Aug 2j) and Patras arrival cds; taxed '70' lepta in manuscript with 1871 10 l. pale orange on greenish, 20 l. blue and 40 l. salmon on blued all tied by "Patras" cds's. The adhesives with slight marginal imperfections and 20 l. lifted to show the "Schiffsamt" cds but a rare usage by two shipping lines.
