Russian Post Office in Smirna 1872: 10 kop. carmine & green, 1879 provisional "7" in black on 10 k. carmine & green and 1879 1 k. black & yellow, all used on 1880 registered cover from Smirna to Aleppo, tied by "SMIRNA" circular datestamp (April 7) in blue with information strike above (Tchilinghirian fig. 155). Reverse with Turkey Dulos 1876 1 pi. yellow (Mi 29) in a horizontal strip of three to pay for single rate + registration fee from Alexandrette to Aleppo, tied by negative seal handstamps in black. A rare and spectacular usage.
