Post-War British P.O. in Smirna 1919/23: The Exhibit collection on leaves (29 covers/cards), with 1919 usages of GB with and without overprints showing registered usages, Dec 1918 cover carried free by HM Ships with notation "Stamps Unobtainable" at top and readdressed from UK to Monte Carlo, 2 d. black registered stationery envelope up-rated 1 pi to Egypt, scarce 3½ d. blue registered stationery env. (204 x 122 mm.) up-rated 1 pi. to USA, 1920 reg'd / AR cover to USA, 1920 ½ d. printed matter cover to Galata, scarce 4 d. green registered stationery env. (202 x 126 mm.) up-rated ½ d. and 1¾ pi. to USA, covers (2) to Germany with Exchange Control reseals, and extremely rare October 1919 Britsh Military Post Office card endorsed "OAS" to UK with "FIELD POST OFFICE / AGX" cds. Informatively written up, a fine collection. Note: The British Post Office in Smirna reopened on 1st March 1919, closing after the great fire in Smirna in September 1923.
