½ groschen orange and 1 groschen carmine each with "HANNOVER 31.5.73" franking mark on face of R local cover to the "Königlichen Polizei-Präsidenten". The fresh colours of the stamps (postage stamp) are very well embossed, well perforated and in good condition, we have registered three covers with this one. In the city of Hanover and in Hanover-Linden in the kingdom of Hanover, a special 1/3 Groschen rate applied to ordinary local covers and local postcards until 31 December 1874, but not to registered local covers or local postcards, for which a total fee of 1 1⁄2 Groschen was due, as elsewhere.
