ABBASID: al-Mu'tamid, 870-892, AR dirham (4.22g), Andaraba, AH280, A-240.10, without any reference to the Banijurid rulers at Andaraba, very clear mint & date, VF to EF, RRR. This is clearly a purely Abbasid issue, even though the Banijurd ruler Muhammad b. Ahmad was presumably in charge. Until now, the latest Banijurid dirham known to us of pure Abbasid style is dated AH273. Since the name of the local ruler could appear on either obverse or reverse at this time, it is possible that mis-matched obverse & reverse dies were used for this piece, thus omitting the name of Muhammad b. Ahmad.
