The text, mainly about the leather business, includes interesting comments about the socio-political situation of that period: "...los hombres no piensan más que en pelear y revolucionar..", "...y la anarquía en que estamos ya no se piensa en trabajar nada, estamos los hombres aburridos y continuamente acompañados de un furor y desesperación como castigo del cielo...", "En Perú el enemigo se ha retirado hasta Lima, por que el Gral.Bolivar ha perseguido a Murillo hasta Lima y lo tiene acorralado."
