1855 (April): Perkins Bacon 5c. red-brown on blued, wmk. 2, a large margined horizontal strip of three of lovely rich colour, showing the misalignmernt between the stamps, neatly cancelled by three strikes of the target handstamp in black. Superb.

1855 (April): Perkins Bacon 5c. red-brown on blued, wmk. 2, two large margined horizontal strips of three, each of fine colour in differing shades, both neatly cancelled by target handstamp in black. Very fine and most attractive multiples.

Second London Printing from new Perkins Bacon plates 1855 (May): 5 c. red-brown on blued paper, a used horizontal strip of six with good to huge margins showing parts of three niehgbouring stamps and small sheetmargin at right, neatly cancelled by four strikes of black target handstamp. Slight vertical crease between the second and third stamp and some staining on the sixth stamp not detracting from the interest of this fine and rare multiple...

1855: Second London Printing, Recess by Perkins Bacon, 5 c. red-brown, on blued paper, top corner marginal block of ten (5 x 2), unused, no gum, good to huge margins all round, ivory heads to reverse, printed in a pale red-brown with a degree of suffused colour, faults in the paper with tears, slits and cracks affecting top margin and top of stamp 2 and 3 and 7 to 9, some natural wrinkles contemporary with the production also, however...

1855 (April): Perkins Bacon 5c. red-brown on blued, a huge margined vertical strip of four, marginal from base of sheet with large margins all round and showing portions of four adjoining stamps, used on 1857 cover at quadruple rate to Valparaiso tied by crisp strikes of the target handstamp in black. File folds well away from the fine multiple, a rare and most attractive cover. Cert. Moorhouse (2004).

1855: Perkins Bacon 1902 reprinted Proof of the 5 c. value, a corner block of twenty (5 x 4) from the lowert right corner of the sheet, engraved in black on thick card paper, and showing the misalignment of the impressions, especially those of the final vertical row where the stamps have slipped downwards compared and the margins are much closer than the rest of the block. Unusual and scarce multiple.

1857/65: Santiago P.O. printings, 5 c. red in a vertical pair, large margins all round and showing portion of adjoining stamp at top, used on circa 1859 cover to Santiago cancelled by crisp strike of target handstamp and part Valparaiso cds in black. One flap missing but most attractive.

1857/65: Santiago P.O. printings, 10 c. sky-blue, wmk. 1, a used horizontal strip of five with good to large margins all round, just clear at lower left corner and showing portions of four adjoining stamps at base, cancelled by target handstamps in black. Slightest thin on fifth stamp not affecting the appearance of a very scarce multiple: when one sees the space between the stamps on this printing, it is remarkable that four margin multiples...

1857/65: Santiago P.O. printings, 10 c. indigo-blue, a used example with good margins all round, marginal from base of sheet, lightly cancelled in black. Rare so fine.

1857/65: Santiago P.O. printings, 10 c. slate-blue, wmk. 4, a used vertical strip of three, of rich colour, margins just clear to fine, lightly cancelled in black. An attractive multiple.

1856/62: Santiago printing 10 c. bright sky-blue (Gi 25), a diagonally bisected example with huge margins on the two sides, used on 1860 entire letter to Valparaiso tied by crisp circular target obliterator with "CHILLAN / CHILE" cds of despatch (Jan 28) at left in black. Choice and very fine Gi = £ 170/Scott = $ 165++.

1856/62: Santiago printing 10 c. deep blue on blued paper (Gi 24b), a diagonally bisected example with large margins on the two sides in a very deep resonant shade, used on 12 June 1861 cover from Constitucion to Valparaiso tied by straight line "CONSTITN" handstamp in black. A scarce late usage of this handstamp as a cancellation Gi = £ 170/Scott = $ 165++.
