Famous English Engravers: Handwritten and signed note from Charles Heath (1785 - 1848) inviting William Watts (1752–1851) to play cards: "My dear Watts, If you have nothing better to do, come and play a rubber this evening at 8 o clock only on table, Yours truly, C. Heath, 6 Seymour Place, Euston Square". Has an outer wrapper with "W. Watts. Esq." written in the same hand. The reference "rubber" referring to the card game Bridge. Additionally, comes with a receipt dated 26 May 1803 signed by James Heath (1757 - 1834) who was the father of Charles Heath and another famous engraver. The receipt is damaged affecting a very small element of the upper loops of the signature. A charming duo.
