ARAB-BYZANTINE: Facing Bust, ca. 610-650, AE follis (10.95g), NM, ND, A-3508X, crudely engraved caricature of a royal bust, holding cross / cross above capital M, no officina, heavily blundered remnants of text, small corrosion spot near rim on reverse, VF, R, ex Hunt Brothers Collection. Probably derived from the military bust type of Maurice Tiberius (582-602), and likely struck before the Arab conquest, perhaps under Persian occupation.
