1853: (1 d.) brownish-red, a used example with good to large margins all round, tied to 1854 cover to Marseille, France endorsed "Steamer" by indistinct obliterator, with reverse showing single ring datestamp and "Trinidad" double arc cds (June 24) in black. Obverse with scarce usage of two line "PANAMA / TRANSIT" in red, thence via London with red transit (July 18) and Calais, Paris and Marseille datestamps (July 21), where charged with handstruck '21' décime due in black.
