Lithographed in the Colony: First Issue 1853 (Feb): Lithographed (1 d.) blue on bluish cartridge paper, a used example, close at upper right but with large margins on three sides and showing portion of adjoining stamp at left, tied to 1853 envelope to London endorsed 'p. Steamer' by "1" numeral obliterator in black. Reverse with double arc 'Trinidad' and single ring despatch cds (Feb 25) with London arrival (March 22) in red where charged '1/-' due to pay in manuscript. An outstanding and early usage of this rare adhesive on letter and a cover of great aesthetic appeal.
