1900 (May 22): Patriotic Fund 1 d. (1 s.) olive-brown and 2 d. (2 s.) emerald-green, the set of two values used with 1899 2 d. mauve on 1900 registered cover addressed to Forwarding Agents Lean Bros. & Rigg in Perth, tied by "Registered Melbourne" datestamps (July 23) in black. The Forwarding Agent's (violet oval cachet on reverse) added a Swan ½ d. dull green cancelled by oval "R" and the Western Australia Perth Post Office accepted the franking (July 31) and forwarded the cover to Singapore (Aug 21). A scarce overseas usage of this issue which was technically not valid for transmission overseas. Superb and very rare.
