1854: Swan 1 d. black, a horizontal pair, margins shaved to fine and single lithographed 4 d. blue with large margins all round, used on 1856 cover to Norwood, South Australia tied by "14" numeral obliterators of Albany. Oval framed "POST OFFICE / ♛ / ALBANY / WESTERN AUSTRALIA" in red at left and "G.P.O. / SOUTH AUSTRALIA" datestamp (Feb 15) in black on obverse and reverse with South Australian diamond numeral '8' of Norwood applied on arrival with manuscript receipt "15/2/56" below.
