1868: Stampless cover sent from Valparaiso to Le Havre, dated 10 January 1868, with "ADMINSTRACION P DE CORREOS (CHILE)", sent via Panama with "PANAMA / 30 JA 1868 / TRANSIT" in black alongside as well as a French packet datestamp, carried upon "Lafayette" at Colon on 1 February, an arrival to reverse dated 25 February 1868, horizontal filing crease, rare cover; the Valparaiso mark is not listed in Rego and West book. Cert. Moorhouse (2005). Comes with an 1828 cover sent from Bordeaux to Valparaiso, dated 13 June 1828, carried on "Charles Adolphe", with post paid "P.32P / BORDEAUX" mark to front.
