1892/93: Collection of fourteen unadopted essay die proofs for the 5 c. value, produced by the Hamilton Bank Note Company, New York, with date "1893" within the frame, the vignette depicting a woman holding scales with a condor, in a variety of colours, two examples with "601" die numbers in bottom margin, condition is generally very fine with only a few imperfections, attractive assembly, scarce.
Remark: Although this design was unadopted for Bolivian stamps it was incorporated into the 1899 Nicaragua series. Ex the Brian Moorhouse Estate.
