Lots & Collections 1862/1900: Fabulous lot of bogus Proofs or Essays or trial stamps, 5 p. and 10 p. and 5 p. as imperf proof, 10 p. partially perforated endorsed "Engraved by G K Jeffries" as a large proof or trial print; unadopted Lion essays in minisheets of twenty-five stamps in green and buff and twelve in black in a block, plus single proofs. Additionally 1864 essays Un Real red, Dos Reales green with lilliuptian Vigilant Lion and 5 c. 'Steamer' in black as a proof of a bogus stamp, also a bogus stamp in red-orange of the same (the Steamer is attributed to S. Allen Taylor Boston); and three 1900th century banknotes, 2 and 3 pesos from 1865 and 5 pesos from 1862 in fair condition; a valuable and fascinating selection. Ex the Brian Moorhouse Estate.
