Penasson 1872 (Jan 1): Phenomenal collection of the issue with typographed complete sets unused in both perforations (incl. the 5 pi. perf. 12½ and the rare perf. 13½); 20 pa. blue lithographed unused (4) and used (6); 5 pa. brown numerous unused incl. blocks of four (6), a block of ten and a block of 16; 10 pa. mauve incl. blocks of four (4) and a marginal strip of three; usages in Jan 1872 incl. 2nd. day, and a strip of three used Jan 14th., the wonderful Plated Study of the 20 pa. blue with 125 examples incl. 20+ unused incl. three blocks of four (all superb); 1 pi. red with hundred+ examples incl. strips of three (2) and some lithos noted; 2½ pi. unused and used range, 2 pi. yellow incl. an unused block of four, 5 pi. unused with "Figure 8 at shaded side of Pyramid" flaw and "Spot on Pyramid" flaw (cert.), used (5) etc. Many hundreds, a truly superb lot for the specialist in these issues.
