1804/1807: Entire letters (2) both mailed from Mauritius to France during the Napoleonic Wars and avoiding the British Naval blockade by travelling via Spain, with 1804 entire letter from Port Nord Ouest to La Rochelle, mentioning Corsaires in contents, and struck with "CADIZ" straight line in red and rated "10" upon arrival; and 1807 entire letter to Bordeaux unusually struck solely with "ESPAGNE / PAR ABYONNE" handstamp in black and rated "11" on arrival, small corner fault at lower right; both letters successfully circumventing the Continental system.
