lot # 4057 - grossbritannien sammlungen
1865/90: Collection of surface printed covers, set-out on thirty exhibition pages, with detailed write-up organised chronologically as a study of mixed-frankings on destination mail. Comprising forty-three examples with a variety of usages and rates as well as origins and destinations. A few illustrate the more common combinations, with a number of the more uncommon or scarce combinations. Also, a unique example of the 1862 1 s. green used in a mixed franking of stamps with small and large letters being used with an 1865 6 d. lilac. As well as, two examples of Inland Revenue fiscal stamps used with ½ d. green adhesives; an 1877 cover to Ceylon sent at the 11 d. rate franked with an 1876 8 d. orange and an 1873 3 d. rose - one of ten recorded. An excellent selection, the odd fault, although with many fine. Scarce colection (43).
