1857 (Jan.): 4 d. rose-carmine, white paper, wmk. Large Garter, perf. 14, horizontal pair, used on cover, London to Dresden, Germany, dated 16 May 1859, cancelled by Pearson Hill Parallel Motion Sixth Trial '3' duplex cancel in black, Type VI, Code 'A', with a Aachen double circle transit and an overstruck 'P' in oval, both in red alongside. Faint vertical crease to left side well clear of adhesives and small part of back missing. Comes with a page illustrating the Pearson Hill Parallel Motion Arrival & Transit Trial Postmarks, Type VI, in red. Faults although a scarce group. Note: The word 'London' needed to be larger in the Dater Dial which was increased to 16mm in this Type VI, the obliterator remaining the same as Type V.
