1857/59: Two exhibition pages featuring three covers illustrating the Charles Rideout Experimental Machine number '2' duplex cancel - Type I and II. The first page features a mourning cover and a wrapper both franked with 1857 1 d. red, perf. 14, tied by fine strikes of the Number '2' experimental duplex Type I, Code 'CR' in black dated 26 February and 18 June 1859 respectively. Both fine and attractive. The second page illustrates the Machine '2' duplex Type II, Code 'RC' cancelling a horizontal pair 1857 1 d. red dated 4 June 1859 (a Sunday), which is the latest known usage of this postmark. The cover has a central vertical filing crease clear of adhesives and soiling to left half, however a rare cover. Additionally, comes with a page comprising two covers (faults) illustrating the Charles Rideout Machine '2' Arrival cds in red from the First Trial, one with 1857 1 d. red and the other a stampless cover from Amsterdam dated 28 October and 22 November 1859 (Code CR).
