1884: Group of five examples from the 'Lilac & Green' issue. Comprising three 'Stamp Committee' Trial stamps including the 1½ d. value lettered EG printed in the issued colour of lilac on unwatermarked paper which is slightly greyish on reverse with large part og., a colour Trial for the same value lettered TE printed in dull grey-green on toned un-watermarked paper (horizontal crease) in unused with part gum condition and colour trial of the 3 d. value printed in purple on blue un-watermarked thick paper very fresh and large part og. Also two specimen examples; the 2½ d. value in lilac lettered AE imperforate with large margins all round and sheet marginal at top overprinted 'SPECIMEN' (Type 9) in black and the 6 d. dull green lettered GK unused with variety "Perf. 12" and overprinted 'SPECIMEN' in black (Type 9) fresh colour but top perfs. toned and wrinkled large part og. (Spec. K24t). A scarce selection Gi = £ 3'200.
