Auction 333-341 Nigeria, Cameroon, Sudan & Worldwide Postal History - Day 4

Angola 1870/77: Crown 5 r. black (two examples) and 20 r. yellow-olive (two examples) used on reverse of 1882 cover to Liverpool endorsed "Por via de Lisboa" tied by oval "CORREIO DE / MALANGE" datestamps in blue (May 23), thence via Loanda with transit cds on obverse (June 15) in black. Oval "Provincias / Ultramarinas" transit (July 22) in black applied in Lisbon. Taxed as short paid with small circular "T" marking and charged "5d." in black on arrival in Liverpool (July 27). Restored corner to cover but a rare usage of the Crown issue on cover.
