Second French Occupation (1807-1809/1814) 1810 (April 24): Entire letter from Corfu "en rade" (in the roads) to Die, Drôme, France with long letter from a sailor to his mother describing the attacks made by the British and their planned siege, struck with superb "POSTA SETTINSULARE / CORFU" in blue-green ink. Rate altered from "5" to "13" décimes due upon arrival in manuscript. A fine and rare entire.
