British Protectorate 1815-1864 1858 (April 9): Entire letter from Ithaca to Lefkas, Santa Maura, some minor ageing at sides, but well struck with small circular "ITHAKA" cds in blue (April 9) - the earliest recorded usage of this datestamp - with faint "POSTA PAGATA" at right with "1" (penny) prepaid in red crayon. Reverse with hooded Santa Maura arrival datestamp (April 12) in blue. Rare.
