British Protectorate (1815-1864) 1859 (Feb 9): Incoming prepaid cover from Vienna with despatch cds in black, addressed to The Right Honorable W.E. Gladstone MP., care of the High Commissioner in Corfu, with straight line "FRANCO" in red and reverse showing "15/15" kreuzer marking applied in Trieste (Feb 11) with CORFU arrival in blue (Feb 13) on reverse. A fine cover to the future British Prime Minister who was, at this date, much engaged with the future Independence of Italy.
