Austrian Post Office in Corfu 1863: Arms 15 soldi brown, perf. 14, a used example on 1864 entire letter to Constantinople tied by oval cachet "I.R. CONSULATO GENERALE AUSTRIACO IN CORFU" with Imperial Eagle vignette (Tchilinghirian fig. 460). Small "CORFU" cds in blue alongside (Nov 30j) and "1" in pencil for the local Ionian fee (1 penny = 5 soldi). Reverse with '20' soldi rate corrected to '15' in manuscript and "Lloyd Agenzie / Costantinopoli" cds (Dec 16) of receipt. An extremely rare and very famous cover. Signed Colla & Ferchenbauer.
