lot # 2805 - iran Dokumente
1882: Hand-painted display panel prepared after Persia's acceptance in the Universal Postal Union, membership being adopted on 1 June 1878 at the Paris Convention. This example with Nasr ed-Din Shah Qajar 1881/82 values at top, 1879/80 definitives and, below these, 1876 5 ch. and four Barre perforated Essays for the first issue. Datestamped at base in Teheran (April 2). Just three panels are believed to be in existence, each being slightly different and probably given to high Postal Officials only as the frame-work painting at top is both meticulous and outstandingly beautiful. Unique.
Provenance: Collection Khosrow 'Joe' Youssefi, DF, Geneva, 10 Dec 2019, lot 20125.
