United States -- Scott PR3 Rare used newspaper stamp
Without gum as issued, typical blue P cancel, piece torn off lower left corner...curved tear 1/2" from bottom and across bottom has been repaired. Perfs on three sides...trimmed where repair was made. All of these faults are typical of used versions of PR3. These stamps were placed on the top newspaper in a stack to show tax had been paid. Most were discarded.
